I've been wanting to start writing a blog for the band for some time now, but never really knew where to start. I knew that it would be a great way to open up another line of communication between us and YOU, our friends and fans, but I've always seen it as a daunting, overwhelming task to live up to. Then one day it dawned on me: I can either forever doubt myself into submission and never write anything, or I can just START, and figure it out as I go, depending on what all of you guys, gals, and non-binary pals like. So here we go. I'll save the all-too-cliche story of how the band met and formed for a later post (perhaps when I'm in a bit more of a nostalgic mood), and just tell you what we've been up to lately. Short and sweet.
To put it simply: we've been WRITING. From riding psychedelic sound waves to laying down beneath somber clouds of ambiance, we're entering parts unknown. We're attempting to challenge and push ourselves beyond what's comfortable, and frankly it's been exhilarating. Adding more effects and layers to the song is something we've been experimenting with. We want to bring you all something that hopefully you've never heard before while still keeping it real and staying true to our "Roots". Some of you may have heard a few of our new numbers if you've been to any of our recent shows (we hope you dig them as much as we do!) but now we're considering bringing them back into the dark until they have been polished and recorded. Hey, maybe we'll pepper them in here and there, who knows? But now I feel I'm giving away too much.
We plan on getting back into the studio very soon to lay some of these new tracks down. At this moment we're trying to decide on whether to do another single, an EP, or a full-length album. Perhaps you all could help us decide?
Taz just had a birthday. He had a good one and wanted to say thank you for all the good vibes. Mine is coming up as well. Then we'll both be 26. We're all getting older, but the bond is only growing stronger and that's thanks not only to our incredible sense of brotherhood, but also thanks to all of you, our friends, and your constant love and support. Thanks for taking the time to check this out, and I'll see if I can make it a consistent thing I do to keep you updated on things big and small (kinda like our own little Roots of Thought diary) as we float through the solar system together. Peace.
